Dendron Forestry Services is familiar with the City of Ottawa requirements. We specialize in providing advice on how to incorporate tree protection during planning and can prepare the following reports. We can also take care of submitting the reports to the City of Ottawa and following through with site visits with City staff.
Tree Disclosure Information
As of May 24, 2016, new rules require that applicants for building permits within the greenbelt area of Ottawa include Tree Disclosure Information as part of their application. More information on this requirement can be found at the City’s website: http://ottawa.ca/en/residents/water-and-environment/trees-and-community-forests#tree-and-infill-development
Tree Conservation Reports
Applications for a Site Plan Control, Subdivision, or Condominium proposal must include Tree Conservation Reports. More information on these can be found here:
Distinctive Tree Permits
When a resident within the urban area of the city would like to remove a tree 50 cm or greater in diameter on their own property, they must apply for a Distinctive Tree Permit. More information on this can be found here: http://ottawa.ca/en/residents/water-and-environment/trees-and-community-forests/protection#how-get-distinctive-tree-permitnew-changes
In addition to the above, Dendron can also provide advice for construction projects that may impact trees as well as prepare management plans that may be required for the development of parks
